Still shaken up from our two previous ties games, our boys gave up eight runs in the first. 

The scene was set for the Phillies to get their first loss of the season after going down quietly in the first. 

We were able to shut down the Angels in the second- giving us time to start picking away at the eight run deficit.  We were able to score a couple of runs in the bottom half of our inning. 

The Angels were not happy with their lead and kept putting up runs giving them a 12-8 lead going to the last inning. It was now our turn to put together a big comeback inning!  The boys put together a string of hits giving them a chance for the comeback to be complete. 

After we tied the game, Big Game Mike S. came through with a single that scored the winning run from second. 

The comeback was complete!!

More importantly- we were off to our Team party.  A big thanks to the Adams family for hosting us.  A great time was had by all!!

Who says Orange County doesn’t get cold.  This was one of the coldest nights our boys have experienced this year. 

The Yankees took advantage of timely hitting that allowed them to score on a regular basis, but the Phillies were able to keep pace throughout the game.  During the last couple of innings the Phillies were able to extend their lead to 8-4. 

It felt like déjà-vu  from our previous game as we were able to get the two quick outs in the final inning.  But the Yankees with their no-quit attitude scored four runs to tie the game at 8. 

This was back to back ties for our Phillies.  

Final Score:   Phillies 8   Yankees 8

This was a highly anticipated game as it was our first meeting with the Giants since our first game was rained out.

The fireworks exploded and the kids played a great game!

The Phillies came ready to play showing great early pitching and stellar defense. 

Going into the bottom of the 6th the Phillies had a 8 – 3 lead. The inning started out well for our Phillies getting two quick outs, but the Giants didn’t want to go down without a fight.  After a few hits the Giants continued to pour it on and score 5 runs with two outs to tie the game at 8. 

After reviewing the time, it was decided that there was time for us to play an extra inning, which is very rare in this division. The good play in the earlier innings from both teams allowed for this extra time. 

It was a nail biter but both teams failed to score in the seventh.

We had quite a crowd gathered to watch this game. The boys didn’t disappoint and played a nail biter of a game that was sure to please!

In the first inning  we managed a run giving us the lead 1-0.  But the Dodgers were not about to roll over after giving up a run and scored three times in the bottom of the first to take the lead 3 -1. 

Our Phillies scored another run in the top of the 2nd making it 3-2 Dodgers.  The Dodgers made a strong statement -They were here to win!- and scored in four consecutive innings taking the lead 8-2.

The Phillies were looking for some answers in the fifth inning and scored 3 runs to pull within three.  Kyle K. was the answer we were looking for; he pitched a scoreless fifth letting his teammates continue with all the momentum. 

The final / 6^th inning didn’t start the way we wanted it to, our leadoff hitter was retired and now we were down to two outs.  The next four consecutive hitters reached base, giving us bases loaded and now down by two.  Kyle A. was our next hitter getting down in the count 1-2; this didn’t faze him and he hit the next pitch for a triple. The runners all came in and Kyle scored on an over-throw,  giving us a 2 run lead 10-8. 

Kyle K. was excited and ready to take the mound to shut the door on the Dodgers.  He pitched the final inning allowing no runs and preserving a great comeback effort from our Phillies.  The Killer K’s strike again!

It was a change of scenery for the boys as they played their first day game since the opening day. 

Mike S. pitched two solid innings to earn his first win of the year!

It was nice to see how our boys have come together and do the little things to make our team better. 

Mikey O. and Travis A. both had two great at bats that don’t necessarily show up in the score box as a success, but from a coaches point of view they couldn’t have done it any better.  Their efforts at the plate helped advance the runs and up the score for our team. 

Our offense was lead by Jared B. collecting two hits and a walk.

Great game, Phillies! Keep up the good work! 

The Yankees came out swinging scoring 3 runs in the top of the first. 

Our boys showing no panic, came back with five runs of their own to take the lead.

The Yankees were relentless throughout the game keeping it close to the end. 

Jared B. showed great range at short stop making two very difficult stops in the hole; one play saved at least two runs. This was vital because the score would have put the Yankees one run down with one inning to play.  

Final score:   Phillies 12  Yankees 8. 

Great job boys!!!

Tonight’s game was rained out! 

We had a 6:30pm game time and right at 6:30, the rains came! We huddled in the bathrooms and waited to see if it would ease up. But no such luck! The game was called off. 

We made the most of it and had an impromptu pizza party! 

The game is rescheduled for April 4th.

This was our first encounter with the Dodgers this year. 

Our boys were a little sluggish during pregame, so coach Dave Brodt had to remind them that baseball is game of focus and momentum.  I believe our boys took this talking to heart and came out swinging. 

We were able to score 2 runs in the first inning, giving us the momentum we were looking for for the rest of the game.  By the end of the third inning, we were up 10-2. 

The hitting became contagious after the third inning and our boys were able to put up 7 more runs in the fourth.

The Phillies were led by the Killer K’s – Kyle K. going (3 for 3 with two doubles), Kyle A. (3 for 3).  

Garret G (2 for 3), Griffin O. (2-3), and Mickey O. (2-3) each had two hits.  Kyle K. also made his pitching debut and pitched one shut out inning while Cohl S. threw three solid innings for the win.

GAME 2 vs PADRES

Game 2 featured the Phillies against the Padres; both teams won their opening game.

For some of the boys this is the first time under lights making them feel like big leaguers. What a great feeling for them!

Parker led the Phillies to a one run lead in the top of the first, by starting the game off with a triple.

In the bottom of the first we were able to throw a guy out at third trying to stretch a double into a triple. The ball was hit to the right center field wall, picked up by Travis A. relayed to Nick L. and tagged out by Cohl S. This was only the start of a great night for our Phillies!

Mike S. pitched three scoreless innings keeping the score 1-0. In the top of the fourth our boys scored two more runs putting together a few hits and a sac fly by Justin B.

Kyle A took the mound in the fourth shutting down the Padres in order. The fifth and sixth inning was quiet for our Phillies, but the Padres were able to score one run in the fifth and again in the sixth.

Final Score: Phillies 3  Padres 2
